Black Rat Cycling
We take cycling trips to the Pyrenees on a regular basis come with us to ride 2 stages and watch the Tour de France 2025.
In July 2025, we have a fantastic week planned in Bagneres de Luchon, from Sunday 13th – Sunday 20th July. Two stages of the Tour de France will be accessible during the week – Stage 13, which is the mountain time trial from Loudenvielle to Peyragudes and the queen stage of the race from Pau to Bagneres de Luchon.
Besides watching the Tour, we have some fabulous rides planned for the week:
Bagneres de Luchon is at the centre of the Pyrenees, close to the Spanish border. Famous cols accessible from the town centre include:
Further afield, but still rideable from town you will find The Col d’Aspin, Col du Tourmalet, Col de Portet and the Portet d’Aspet to name just a few.
This really is an outstanding area for cycling.
Read on to find out details of our trip.
During the week we will take in some of the most famous mountain passes in the Pyrenees, such as the Col du Tourmalet at 2115m, the Route des Lacs at 2204m, the Col d’Aspin at 1489m and the Col de Peyresourde at 1563m to name just a few.
We will be based in one location for the week, so no packing and unpacking your belongings each day as you would on a point to point trip.
All rides can start from Luchon and will be guided each day. We will have a back up vehicle in attendance so anyone who doesn’t wish to ride can jump in the vehicle to get back to the chalet.
Lunch will be taken in a restaurant or cafe en route, and a 3 course dinner with wine will be served at the chalet each evening.
We will have exclusive use of the chalet, which can fit up to 12 people, but we feel that a comfortable number is 8 or 9.
Rooms are priced on a shared basis. Please enquire if you require a single room.
Guests like this trip not only because of the fabulous riding available but also because we have one base for the week and they are not living out of a suitcase and moving to a new hotel each day.
The trip lasts 8 days, with 6 days cycling plus a day at each end for travel.
